Christ Center views water baptism as an appropriate physical act of obedience by those who have already chosen to follow Christ with their mind and heart. It is an event and a memorial to a person’s choosing to identify with Jesus in their manner of living. It is not an assurance of having become a Christian. It is a step in the process of growing in one’s faith in Christ. Please read the following verses to find the context of baptism in the Bible.
That what baptism into the life of Jesus means. When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus. Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we’re going in our new grace-sovereign country.
— Romans 6:4 MSG
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
— Matthew 28:19-20
Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, "See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?" Then Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."
— Acts 8:36-37

At Christ Center we recognize that parents are the primary spiritual influence in their child’s life. Because of this, a signed parental/guardian consent form is required when any minor is water baptized at Christ Center. This ensures that parents are aware of the child’s decision to follow Jesus Christ and have the opportunity to celebrate the event of their child’s water baptism.
Please be advised that I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian, hereby give permission to the staff of Christ Center to baptize by water immersion.
