Responding to the God Who is There

Jan 19, 2025    Steve Thomas

In this powerful exploration of Exodus 34:5-9, we delve into the heart of God's character and how He relates to us. This pivotal passage reveals God as both merciful and just, challenging our tendency to view Him as either all-loving or all-judgmental. We're reminded that God's love is the foundation for both His forgiveness and His justice. As we consider the Israelites' struggle with idolatry and stubbornness, we see reflections of our own tendencies to create false gods and resist change. Yet, God's response to His people then mirrors His heart towards us now - full of compassion, grace, and a willingness to forgive. This message invites us to bow down in humility, worship in awe, and pray with confidence, knowing that the God who revealed Himself to Moses is the same God who desires a relationship with us today.
